  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened to a rich, spreadable texture
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar to add essential sweetness
  • 2 large eggs to help bind everything together
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract for a touch of aromatic warmth
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour the foundation of our fluffy loaf
  • 1 tsp baking soda crucial for that perfect rise
  • 1/4 tsp salt to enhance all the flavors
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon introducing a hint of spice
  • 1/2 cup sour cream lending extra moisture and tanginess
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries bursting with juicy flavor

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well to combine, followed by stirring in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with sour cream, and stir until combined.
  • Gently fold in the blueberries.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a fun twist, consider adding nuts such as walnuts or pecans for extra crunch. If you enjoy a sweeter loaf, feel free to add a tablespoon or two of honey.
