Ingredients

Instructions

Marinating

  • Place the chicken strips in a large bowl. Pour in the buttermilk and add 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning. Toss until well coated, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Preparing the Breading

  • Mix flour, cornmeal, and remaining Cajun seasoning in a shallow bowl.

Coating the Chicken

  • Remove chicken from the refrigerator. Dredge each strip thoroughly in the seasoned flour and cornmeal mixture until well-coated.

Frying

  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add chicken strips and fry for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Serving

  • Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider double-dipping the chicken strips. Allow coated strips to rest for 10 minutes before frying.
