  • 5 large eggs

  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sour cream or buttermilk Choose based on preference.
  • 3/4 cup brewed coffee Enhances chocolate flavor.
  • 2 cups Nestlé Toll House chocolate chips Melts beautifully in the cake.

Ganache Ingredients

  • 1 stick salted butter Melted for ganache.
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder Unsweetened.
  • 1/2 box powdered sugar Adjust for sweetness.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Again enhances the flavor.
  • 3 tbsp milk To thin the ganache.

Topping

  • 1/2 cup pecan pieces For added crunch.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, combine the Devil's Food cake mix and the instant chocolate pudding mix.
  • Add in the eggs, vanilla extract, vegetable oil, sour cream or buttermilk, and brewed coffee. Mix until smooth.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  • Pour the batter into the baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Ganache Preparation

  • Melt the salted butter in a saucepan and mix in the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  • Drizzle the ganache evenly over the cooled cake and top with pecan pieces.
  • Allow the ganache to set for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For an intense chocolate flavor, you can substitute brewed coffee with espresso. Ensure that eggs and sour cream or buttermilk are at room temperature for a fluffier texture.
