  • to taste Salt and pepper Essential for seasoning.
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish) Adds a toasty crunch.
  • 2 tbsp green onions, chopped (for garnish) Adds fresh, crisp flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Bring to a gentle simmer and stir occasionally until the sauce thickens, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season cod fillets with salt and pepper. Add cod to the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 145°F/63°C).
  • Reduce heat to low, pour ginger soy glaze over the cooked cod, and allow to cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, marinate the cod fillets in the ginger soy glaze for 30 minutes prior to cooking. Ensure the skillet is sufficiently heated before adding the cod for the perfect golden crust. Serve immediately after garnishing to maintain the crispy texture.
