  • 1/2 cup Valentine's-themed sprinkles or M&Ms for decoration

For the Frosting

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar for sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for flavor
  • 2-3 tablespoons heavy cream for smoothness

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually combine the dry mixture with the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and your choice of sprinkles or M&Ms.
  • Prepare a heart-shaped pan by lining it with parchment paper or greasing it.
  • Spread the cookie dough evenly in the pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 18-22 minutes until the edges are golden and the center is set.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Frosting and Decoration

  • For the frosting, beat together the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • Add in the vanilla, heavy cream, and food coloring, mixing until fluffy.
  • Once the cookie cake is cool, spread the frosting generously over the top.
