Ingredients
  

For the Shrimp

  • 1.5 pounds extra-large or jumbo shrimp Ensure they are peeled and deveined.
  • 4 large egg whites Whisk until frothy.
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs Adds crunch.
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch Helps achieve a crispy texture.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For flavor enhancement.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances the flavors.
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper Adds a mild spiciness.
  • vegetable oil for frying Use enough for deep frying.

For the Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Base of the sauce.
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream For creaminess.
  • 2 tablespoons honey Adds sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Balances richness.

For the Glazed Walnuts

  • 1 cup walnuts Crunchy topping.
  • 1 cup brown sugar For caramelized sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup water Used in the glaze.

For Garnish

  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions Optional for garnish.

Instructions
 

Prepare the Honey Walnut Sauce

  • Combine mayonnaise, heavy cream, honey, and lemon juice in a mixing bowl. Whisk until smooth and creamy.

Prepare the Shrimp

  • Peel and devein the shrimp.
  • Whisk egg whites until frothy.
  • Mix panko breadcrumbs, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and white pepper in another bowl.

Coat the Shrimp

  • Dip each shrimp into the egg whites, then roll in the dry mixture until fully coated.

Fry the Shrimp

  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry coated shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden.
  • Transfer fried shrimp to paper towels to drain excess oil.

Prepare the Glazed Walnuts

  • In a saucepan, combine walnuts, brown sugar, and water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Strain and spread walnuts on parchment paper to cool.

Assemble the Dish

  • Toss fried shrimp with honey walnut sauce in a large mixing bowl.
  • Plate the shrimp and top with glazed walnuts. Garnish with sliced green onions if desired.

Notes

Ensure oil is hot before frying. Use fresh shrimp for best results. Adjust sweetness in the sauce to your taste. Include chili flakes for heat if desired.
