Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine fresh crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, parsley, salt, and pepper. Gently mix until well combined.
  • Form the mixture into small patties, about 2 to 3 inches in diameter. You should be able to make about 8 patties.

Cooking

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the crab cakes for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • Serve warm with lemon wedges and tartar sauce on the side.

Notes

Choose fresh crab meat whenever possible. Avoid overmixing to maintain the texture of the crab. For added flavor, consider finely diced red bell peppers or green onions.
