Instructions

Preparation

  • Dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm milk in a small bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, salt, eggs, and the yeast mixture. Stir until well blended.
  • Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled.

Filling and Rolling

  • Prepare the filling by mixing raspberry jam, softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  • Punch down the risen dough, roll it out into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Spread the raspberry filling evenly over the rolled-out dough, then roll tightly into a log.
  • Slice the log into 12 equal rolls and place them in a greased baking dish.

Baking

  • Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Prepare the frosting by beating cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and enough milk for desired consistency.
  • Drizzle the frosting generously over warm cinnamon rolls before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add lemon zest to the filling. Substitute part of flour with whole wheat for lighter rolls. For a vegan option, use almond milk and flax eggs. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
