Filling

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Essential for creamy filling.
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar Sweetens the buttery center.
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam Star ingredient for fresh flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, sift together powdered sugar and almond flour.
  • In a clean mixing bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  • Gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold in the sifted almond flour and powdered sugar mixture until smooth and glossy.
  • Pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets and let rest for 30-60 minutes until they form a skin.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-18 minutes and let cool completely.

Filling Assembly

  • Cream together softened butter and powdered sugar, then add strawberry jam.
  • Pipe filling onto half of the macarons and sandwich with the other half.

Notes

Use high-quality almond flour for better texture. Ensure egg whites are at room temperature for optimal whipping, and allow the shells to dry adequately to prevent cracking.
